Guess what!!!!

I (Katie) got my official go ahead to give Zeke my kidney!  I got some labs drawn at the beginning of April and have been waiting and waiting to hear from my donor team in Cincinnati and FINALLY did!  When I first got my labs drawn in January some of my labs were too high and I had 3 months to get them down in order to be able to be his donor. So much fear and guilt went though my mind…what if I couldn’t do it?…how long would it be until he would get a kidney?….what if dialysis stopped working?…it went on and on.  

But I did it!!!  I got my butt into gear and started working out and dieting using a program called the Shaklee 180.  I even won $500 worth of free products!  Go me!!!  I still have a ways to go on my journey to health but I feel so much better now.  I knew I always needed to take better care of myself but never put myself first.  We are so excited and are so ready for the next step! 

Zeke’s team of doctors in Cincinnati are having a big meeting this Friday (May 3rd) to talk about his case and hopefully schedule a date for the BIG DAY!  I can’t believe it’s coming up so soon.  They are thinking it will be in June!  

As for our family, we are on the mend of all being sick so please pray that we can all stay healthy!  Especially Zeke and I before our surgery!
