Good Evening Everyone,
Sorry, we haven’t updated everyone recently. Finley has been in and out of the hospital several times recently. Finley’s g-tube that we’ve had since his MSUD diagnosis started giving us problems. He would get a fever every 10-14 days causing us to be re-admitted to Childrens in Dallas. After several rounds of antibiotics, the G-tube ultimately became non-salvageable on 7/16 due to infection. We’ve used this G-tube to keep him healthy during MSUD and to administer nutrition/medications post-transplant. Finley ended up having surgery to remove the G-tube on 7/17. His transplant surgeon, Dr. Desai, performed the removal of the G-tube. We were all hesitant and fearful of the struggles that medications by mouth would bring. Through patience and prayer, Finley has taken all medications by mouth this week without any complications or hesitation. We are extremely proud of him for transitioning so quickly and finally feel like he is on the road to recovery. We will go back to Childrens on 7/27 to follow up with the transplant team and get labs analyzed. Luckily, through all the admissions, Fin’s liver has been unaffected which is awesome! Thank you to all who supported and encouraged our family during this time. Hopefully, posts moving forward will highlight a more positive journey.
We’ve attached a few pictures below to show the journey over the last few weeks.

Until next time.

I am so glad he is doing so well after G tube removal! Prayers answered once again! God is faithful!
