Good Afternoon Everyone,
I hope you all have had a great start to the new year. The year started off a bit rough for the Strother household. At Finley’s one year transplant follow up appointment, we found out that Finley was positive for COVID. Although Fin did not feel well for several days, we are thankful that his new liver handled it like a champ. All of his labs during this time continued to be great! We have now reduced or discontinued several of his medications. He is currently on his anti-rejection medication, aspirin, iron supplement and magnesium supplement. Labs are now monthly. He will have a hepatic ultrasound in March to take a look a vasculature structure and blood flow. If everything looks good, we will then stop the aspirin. With his immune system a little more robust now, we’ve been able to start venturing out to do a few things. We were able to go in Wal-Mart without being in a plastic bubble for the first time and while going in got to see a real fire truck that all the firefighters showed him and allowed him to check out. Today we took him to church where he was able to play with other kids his age. We are grateful for the progress and the support we’ve had to get to this point. We hope to see you all out and about soon.

Love,
The Strothers
