Good Afternoon!
We hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. Finley was able to see his cousins and enjoyed playing with them. Fins leucine levels have been on the rise the last few weeks. Typically when this happens, we start checking him for any signs of illness. Fin has actually been fine but he’s also started taking more food my mouth which might be what is causing it to spike. We had his first formula change since August today to start driving his leucine down and allowing him to take more food by mouth. Finley often rejects the bottle and also at times ends up gagging. The last few weeks we’ve had to use the pump a lot because of him not wanting to take his special formula by mouth. We look forward to post transplant when he will no longer have to take the special formula and will be able to return to a normal diet. Until then, we keep a smile on our face just like Finley does. Even after all the adversity he has faced, he continues to amaze us with all the things that he conquers daily. As Gramps would say, “Finley is a Hard Charger”!
Love,
