HAPPY BIRTHDAY, FINLEY!

Finley turns four today! He had a wonderful birthday party yesterday with family and friends. It’s been a while since we’ve shared an update, so we wanted to catch everyone up on how he’s doing.

Finley is doing fantastic and continues to amaze us with his resilience and tenacity. His health has remained stable, and he currently gets lab work done every eight weeks. He’s done remarkably well, with only one overnight hospital stay back in November 2024.

He has also loved being a big brother to Maverick, who clearly thinks Finley is the best thing ever and constantly wants to be in his space. No matter what Finley does, Maverick laughs hysterically and crawls to find him whenever he leaves the room. We can only imagine what will happen once Maverick starts walking!

We have a few exciting updates to share for the fall. First, Finley starts pre-K this Tuesday. We’re a little nervous, but we know he’ll benefit from interacting with other kids. Thankfully, the school has been so accommodating, even sending notes to all the families to bring awareness to his transplant and the need to communicate when a child is sick.

Additionally, Finley is the COTA September Calendar Kid, and he’ll be bringing awareness to the importance of newborn screening. Finley’s own newborn screen is what ultimately flagged him for Maple Syrup Urine Disease. Stay tuned—Finley’s video will be released on multiple outlets tomorrow.
