So yesterday we told you that there was a lot happening with our little Ela Bella. Some of those things were an unfavorable x-ray and echo, hyperglycemia caused by steroids (but she has to have those right now because of certain other factors), difficulty getting fluid off her lungs and lower oxygen sats. So we moved back over to the CICU (Cardiac Intensive Care Unit) and her cath that was scheduled for Friday is now TODAY instead. Around 2 PM Ela will go for that cath where they will look at the heart more in-depth to see what might be going on and to also get a biopsy to test for rejection. Right now, she is hooked back up to several IV meds and wearing oxygen. It hurts everyone going 1 step forward, 2 steps back.
Ela endured so many pokes over the last several days. Yesterday was especially gruesome. It’s horrible to watch and I’m sure even more awful for her to keep having to go through what seems like constant poking and prodding. We are standing there helpless…wanting to take her pain but can’t as she screams and cries out, “Help me Mommy. Help me Papa” while then telling the person prodding, “Stop, stop it. It hurts.”She will unfortunately be getting even more pokes because of her glucose thing now and possibly insulin injections.
These days are hard; but as hard as they are we are hopeful that better days are ahead…Lord willing, more days with our heart warrior princess because of her heart hero. Thanks for praying us through the day.

Oh I’m so sorry your sweet girl has to deal with so many pokes. I’m praying right now for that cath abd for continued strength and comfort.

Continuing to pray for little Ela. My heart aches for all she has been through. May God keep her safe and heal her. May he guide the doctors in knowing how to best care for her. I tear up every time I read another post. I can’t imagine all she and you have had to endure. 🙏❤️

Good grief. Poor baby and parents. So so sorry. Unfortunately im just seeing this but will continue praying. Hopefully easy fix & no insulin injections. Love & prayers
