Some more hurdles and setbacks. We are so so thankful her heart is not in rejection right now. However, her antibodies are still higher than they should be, although trending in the right direction. So this means more plasmapheresis with talk of a more permanent catheter being placed, more of the multiple infusion therapies, and possibly another treatment starting this week that we haven’t tried yet. Today, we had the added surprise of stomach pain and other symptoms that resulted in an abdominal x-ray and ultrasound. She has “possible pneumotosis” and gastrojejunal(GJ) intussesception. I don’t know if I accurately understand these terms enough to explain on here, but these things pose some problems on top of all the other things Ela has going on. She relies on her gastrojejunal (GJ) tube for life-sustaining medications and nutrition. These issues she’s having can have severe consequences. It’s getting overwhelming to keep up with everything—cardiology, endocrinology, nephrology, GI, nutrition, bone health, rehab, etc …. Appreciate the prayers so so much and your words of encouragement mean more than I can say. Please keep praying….Ela is homesick. The boys need their mom, dad, and sister…all of us home—together. It’s been over 100 days in the hospital this time around…That’s a long time for Ela, but for the rest of our family too.
So sorry to hear about these setbacks. We are already praying for them. And we are praying for all of you. I know it has to be so hard to be apart. May God bless you with good news this week! We love you all.
We are so sorry she continues to have challenges; we continue to pray for your whole family. Lots of people are praying for you.❤️
Isaiah 43:2-3: “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you. For I am the LORD your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior”. Our love and prayers continue with you!
Praying for Ela to improve day by day, for you guys to be able to understand the medical issues, and for your whole family to be reunited soon. The Lord is a good shepherd through it all. Thanks for the update!
Oh to have a magic wand and make all this go away!!! But heartfelt prayers are effective and we trust the God to whom we pray for His goodness, wisdom and power. We love you all and long for the day when you are all reunited.
Praying for sweet Ela and her precious family.
We are so sorry that this path has been much like a roller coaster ride, emotionally for you all. Our prayers continue as we cry out to God on your behalf. Leanna Crawford has a beautiful music video on her song “Still Waters”. If you haven’t yet seen it may I encourage you to listen? It’s my prayer for you!!

Thanks for keeping us updated. I can’t imagine how overwhelming this must be for your whole family. Praying for you Peace that passes all understanding that will guard your hearts and minds from the anxiety of it all.
Prayers for Ela’s new symptoms, for the Lord to resolve, strengthen and continued healing. May the Lord allow you to be together as a family sooner rather than later. Prayers for each family member’s strength.
Praying constantly for Ela and your whole family! May God draw you near and comfort your hearts.
So sorry to hear of more set backs. We will continue to pray for you guys! Please let us know if there is anything we can do for you guys to make life a little easier through all this chaos.
