Sepsis: Hospital Admission, Day 6

Surgery update… Went well. They did a wash out and didn’t need to do the interventions that they thought they needed to. Praise the Lord! They also took biopsies and more cultures.

Here’s the delicate balancing dance we are doing…Her white blood count (WBC) is super low. Her immunosuppressants/anti-rejection meds for her heart make them low to begin with. But Ela’s white blood cell count is way, way too low. She is very susceptible to a lot of things right now, even more than usual. The team has held one of her immunosuppressant/anti-rejection meds to try to help get her WBC up, but that puts her heart more at risk of rejection. With her blood sugar issues and a low WBC it is very difficult for her wound to heal. So please pray her WBC comes up, her heart stays healthy, her glucose is managed well, and she doesn’t acquire any new illness. Thanks for your faithfulness in lifting her up before our Heavenly Father!

  1. Today was the first I had seen an update on Ela. Praising God Surgery went well. Shared with my home flock group for continued prayers🙏

  2. Estamos agradecidos por la parte de buenas noticias, pero en plegaria para que los glóbulos blancos suban y para que Dios guarde a Ela de cualquier otro virus, bacteria o enfermedad. Nuestro amor para con todos ustedes.
    Bendiciones,
