Ela was discharged from hospital on Tuesday! We are staying at the Gift of Life House until next Tuesday. She has 3 appointments in the coming days and we hope her wound will look a little better before we make the long trip home. Her antibiotics treatment was extended due to the slow progress of the wound healing. They said it would still take several weeks to heal. Thankfully, she is feeling and acting much better!
Please continue to pray that her heart will remain healthy as she is still on lower doses of her anti-rejection meds and steroids so that her wound has the chance to heal. However, this leaves her heart more at risk of rejection at the moment. Her WBC (white blood count) is still quite a bit lower than it should be, so we appreciate your prayers for that as well…and that she can stay in good health for several weeks while she is recovering from these recent setbacks.
The morning after she was discharged from the hospital, she woke up, sat up in her bed and began singing…. That’s our Ela! The song she was singing was such a sweet reminder and balm to my soul:
“I'm so blessed, I'm so blessed
Got this heartbeat in my chest
No, it doesn't matter about the rest
If I got You, Lord, I'm so blessed”
I think we all need to be reminded how blessed we are despite our circumstances sometimes and that the Lord is truly all we need.
So so sweet! “Got this heartBEEP in my chest…” We are so happy for Ela and will continue to pray for the wound to heal completely and her heart to keep on “beeping.” Love to all
Such a sweet little girl! She is so blessed, and thankful her parents are instructing her to know and love the Lord. Healing prayers daily!
It can take a while for the blood counts to return to normal after sepsis. I’m going through that right now and WBC is still a little low 5-6 weeks after discharge from the hospital. I’m sure the doctors will keep an eye on it and any signs of rejection. Hopefully Ela will continue to heal and be back to her beautiful, happy self!
God is great! I always remember Ela in my prayers. God be with Ela and her family.
🙏🙏🙏
prayers she is soon home and a quick recovery
My word. If she isnt something extra special to be singing that. Imma share with my parents, as i always do, cause mamas been “down” since she suffered a mini stroke about 1.5 weeks ago. This will help her feel better! Gabriela looks so good too. Glad to hear and see some good news!
May we all follow Ela’s example of thankfulness! Continued prayers for her and her family!
How precious! Thank you for sharing. God has made children so resilient; it is truly amazing! Our prayers will continue for the Lord to continue to guide these issues and to grant the goal of heading home in Tuesday. ❤️🩹🙏
What a beautiful song and to see Ela singing. She’s so precious and has such a great attitude. Prayers continuing as she heals. God bless you as you teach Ela God’s steadfast love♥️🙏🏻
