Ela Treatment Update 3/24/26

Quick update….

It looks like Ela has some type of infection going on. All viral stuff came back negative. Team thinks based on her labs it is most likely bacterial infection of some sort…but we don’t know what yet. Some labs are still pending. We are not in the hospital right now, but they want us to stay close by as admission is possible depending on the lab results from today and then lab repeats on Thursday. For now, we are hanging out in a local hotel as we understandably aren’t allowed to stay at Gift of Life when she has these symptoms. Due to probable infection and the current unknowns, her new rejection treatment is postponed until next week and will not happen tomorrow. At the moment her heart rejection doesn’t seem any worse despite whatever else is going on. We are thankful for that! Will update again once we have more information in the next few days….

  1. Prayers for the bacteria to be identified quickly so treatment can begin for it and you can move forward with the plan. Thank God worsening rejection is not the reason! Sending love and hugs to Philly!

  2. Love & prayers for Ela and all of you . May you get some much needed rest. Thankful to hear from you.
