update: Jakes prelim biopsy results are negative for rejection! Praise the Lord for answered prayers!!
Jake is back home tonight after a successful cath. The transplant team was pleased and didn’t see any red flags. We should get the prelim biopsy results tomorrow but are hopeful for a clean report.
On an exciting note, for the first time in as long as I can remember, Jake’s BNP dropped to a normal range. For those who aren’t familiar, bnp is a protein released by the heart when the pressure is too high signaling the kidneys to remove extra fluid. Jakes bnp was more than 15,000 just after transplant. It is now 288.
Today being World Organ Donation Day makes this good news feel even more profound. We remember Jakes donor and their family every day but especially today. Their gift makes days like today possible. Organ donation truly turns loss into life, and Jake is living proof.
