To say we are blessed is an understatement. Over the past 10 days, we have received so much good news and our hearts are overflowing.
Friday, Jake traveled back to St. Louis for his remaining 9-month appointments. He began by personally dropping off the toys collected. Seeing him on the giving side this time was a deeply beautiful, healing experience for him and for us. To everyone who donated, thank you for bringing light to families walking through their darkest days and providing Jake with the opportunity to heal through giving back.

He then went into a visit with his neurology team. They were thrilled with Jake’s progress! They spent time laughing and joking with him, noting that his remaining stroke symptoms are now mild and no longer having a major impact on his day-to-day life. Nuero will continue routine monitoring, but they are incredibly pleased. He also visited with Endo. His A1c remains steady. The team will monitor while he is on Prednisone and plan to retest his antibodies, thyroid and celiac panel at his 12-month follow-up in November. In news that we are still wrapping our minds around, Jake is no longer underweight! He is now officially in a healthy range and continuing to get taller. His O2 sats measured 99% at both appts, a number we will never get tired of seeing.
These appts are proof that his body is beyond healing and now thriving. This is truly what we have been prayer for. Thank you all for your continued prayers, love, and support on this journey!

Yeah, he was amazing to see. I’m so proud of Jake and I’m not surprised he would collect toys for kids in hospitals. That is so Jake.
