Heart Catheter

Jasper had two tests performed on December 10, 2018 at Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City.  The two tests consisted of a heart catheter and a biopsy.  The heart catheter tests to see how well Jasper’s new heart is functioning,  It determines the internal heart pressure and the functioning of the valves and vessels.  The results of this test showed that Jasper’s new heart is functioning very well with only a minor leak of one of his mitral valves.  His doctor’s are hoping this slight problem will decrease over time.  The biopsy determines how well Jasper’s new heart is doing relative to being accepted by his immune system. This type of test will have to be repeated periodically.  The results of the biopsy showed that Jasper’s heart is slightly irritated.  His doctor’s believe this irritation can be alleviated by making adjustments to Jasper’s medications. We were all quite pleased by the results of his tests as they did not indicate any large problems.  We hope and pray that his doctor’s are correct and the small problems shown by the tests will be alleviated in the future.  Thank you for all your prayers for Jasper.
