June 2026–Late Spring Rollercoaster

Hello dear friends,

When we posted Jen’s update in April, she had just been released from Methodist Hospital and was upbeat about the plan to treat the nagging infection in her lungs. Things seemed to be on track and she did what she does best—live her life. She attended the COTA Gala Miracle Makers Celebration Gala in mid-April with friends and had a wonderful time, albeit with the assistance of a wheelchair and oxygen backpack. In late April, she and her sweet pup Duke were featured on Patty Spitler’s “Great Day TV” to plug the upcoming 2026 CF Great Strides Walk (this was Duke’s TV debut and he was a natural on screen). And on May 3rd Jen and her beloved Weber’s Walkers participated in the Great Strides Walk at Victory Field. Vintage Jen Warrior.

Fast forward to early June… Jen was admitted to the hospital last week to try a more aggressive approach to fighting the infection. And then the wheels fell off. In rapid fashion, she ended up in the ICU suffering from acute rejection and hard to control CO2 levels. Sadly, Jen’s prognosis is dire and there are no more options for treatment. She sure could use all of the love and light you can send her way. Jen and her family are so thankful for your support.
