Oct 5th marked the 1-year anniversary of Josiah’s kidney transplant. WHAT a year. What a BLESSING. WHAT A CHANGE!
Proper kidney function has improved his bone health (no more broken bones), his sleep, his energy level, his appetite, his growth pattern (he is getting taller!) and his attitude.
Josiah started a new school this year and he is really enjoying the new students and joined the soccer team as their equipment manager. He has been going to youth group at church and a separate Bible study for the HS boy’s mid-week. It is so great to see him thrive both physically and socially.
I am amazed, and so very grateful for all the positive changes that has happened for Josiah this past year. Not having to drive to Boston for dialysis every other day, not having to restrict sodium, potassium, and phosphorus for every meal, not being able to travel, not being able to shower, swim or run around in the rain… So many noes have turned into yeses!
Yes, play and get wet! Yes, travel and explore! Yes, eat french fries and guacamole! Yes, sleep in and stay home!
We could not have made it thru this time without your prayers and support. My mother-in-law Kathy for coming out and helping during recovery. Daniel and his near perfect match. My cousin Stacey and her care for my daughter while we were otherwise occupied. The doctors and nurses at Boston Children’s; their dedication, knowledge and support.
I have been in awe of how God orchestrated it all!
Thank you, again, for your part and continued prayers.
Katherine
