Is it Spring? Really

Hi Gang!  We celebrated the Spring Equinox on Tuesday March 21st at 9:06 pm. Our end of the week was awesome.  Nice spring time temperatures where we were able to hike and get out to catch some sun rays, a little vitamin D!  Today it’s snowing, wet & soggy here in Durango.  This year I seem to be less tolerant of the lingering winter weather that may be related to my rehabbing knee.  Enough about all that!

The real reason I am writing to you all is that April is NATIONAL DONATE LIFE MONTH!!!  The Donor Alliance has some info on their website if you are interested in learning more.

https://www.donoralliance.org/newsroom/donation-essentials/shinealight-for-national-donate-life-month-this-april-2023/        We celebrate by posting our shine the light poster recognizing Liam & a light in our window & a donor flag in our driveway for the month. Here is a specific link to get your own light kit.       Free #ShineALight kits are available today!

We have many reasons to CELEBRATE in April.  Of course our primary reason is that

Liam’s Heart Day is  April 19th!! We’ve been prepping for the big bash at the Powerhouse on April 19th.  Deadline is April 1st to RSVP (liamsheartclub2020@gmail.com) if you are going to make the trek to Durango but  you can just wish him well! 😀.    If you are coming, we’ve got great prizes in the Drawing for COTA…Two Ski Tickets (2024-25 season) to Wolf Creek, Four tickets to a Colorado Rapids Game in Denver, Two tickets to the Durango & Silverton Railroad, just to name a few of the big ones!

Another reason is that the DONOR DASH 2024 registration is open!  Just in case you’ve forgotten or missed it Liam’s HeartCLub Team was the TOP Family & Friends Team last year.  My family says I am competitive…probably so!

Anyway, here is the link for that.  You can join in Denver that day or many friends have joined us virtually and dashed wherever they are that day.

https://youtu.be/LrLJSBHZ7hs this is a video of last year’s fun! If you have a few minutes it’s fun to watch!

I am working on a Flag raising ceremony (we raise the Donor Alliance flag to honor, recognize & celebrate donors & recipients) with Liam at the local Hospital this month as well.  I’ll send pictures!  Don’t want to miss a thing!  Finley has a birthday  this month, too!
