Two years ago, our family was given the worst news of our lives. Our daughter was diagnosed with bilateral multicystic displastic kidneys. Her chance of survival was less than .0001%. Our world changed. Our priorities shifted. Our future blurred.
The journey to now has been relentless. We’ve become familiar with more medical terminology than we ever thought possible. We’ve seen specialists from pulmonary hypertension, neonatology, pulmonology, nephrology, gastroenterology, urology, cardiology, psychology, physical therapy, and, occupational therapy. We’ve had more hospital stays than we would like to count.
Now, we are waiting for the approval to schedule Lily’s life-saving kidney transplant. The wait is excruciating. Sometimes I feel like I can’t breathe because I just want it to happen so badly. When we look back at the people we were two years ago, it is hard to think about the pain we have gone through. We never know what will happen in the next hour but what we do know is that our daughter survived. We survived. We prayed for days like today.
Please continue to pray for Lily’s journey to transplant. Pray for open doors and expedited appointments. Pray for our family as we are navigating the waiting. And most of all, praise the Lord for his miraculous mercy.
