Luke Update

Every three months Luke’s has made significant progress on his road to recovery.  Three months after Luke’s liver transplant he was able to start going to visit family members homes and start going to church again.  During this period Luke only had one sign of rejection and his body seem to make through it on his own.  In between this time period and the next was difficult with two stays at the hospital (one a virus and the other for high fever).  Six months after Luke’s liver transplant he started attending preschool again.  Nine months after Luke’s liver transplant he battled many illnesses but no signs of rejection.  Twelve months after having a transplant he continues to have no signs of rejection ???? but continues to battle illness as he is more susceptible to getting sick because of the immunosuppressant drugs he is taking.  The ENT has recommended ear tubes (again!) because of the fluid that is unable to drain.  This is scheduled for April 10.   If you walk into Luke’s preschool class he is like any other child.  Full of enthusiasm for learning, trying new things and simply loves being with friends.

On behalf of Team O’Shea thank you for your continued prayers.
