Not out of the hospital quite yet

(Daniel)

I’m writing this at 7pm, and Mylin is still extremely nauseous. We tried multiple things to help today. I vented their G tube 3 different times, even got some stomach juice on my hand the last time 🤢. Around 3 they gave a new nausea med, compazine, via the IV. So far nothing has helped. Mylin has only been able to eat half a piece of toast today. Unfortunately, that means our discharge to the Ronald McDonald House has been delayed. Thankfully we will keep the tube feed off for tonight. Managing blood sugar has been so much easier since enabling auto mode on the insulin pump and tube feeds would require going back to manual mode. The doctors hope Mylin will feel better and be able get some food down tomorrow morning and plan. Discharge will be reassessed based on how that goes. I had everything wrapped up in the hospital room, ready to move across the street, and was looking forward to no longer sleeping at the hospital, but I feel better having Mylin cared for here until they are able to be better with food.

Tif and the twins flew back to San Diego a couple hours ago. It hasn’t been long but I already feel lonely just knowing they aren’t here. Time to sneak over to the Ronald McDonald House quickly to get something to sleep in then call it a night with Mylin. Hoping for some rest to give My a reset and get back on track tomorrow.
