Mylin was nauseous and in a lot of pain when we went to bed last night. They didn’t get comfortable until around 2 am. It was hard for me to sleep due to their restlessness and keeping a close watch on their blood sugar. Whenever pain is elevated their blood sugar goes up. Mylin had to get up to take meds at 6am and 8am. I let them go back to sleep after that and they only woke up at 11:30 because I made them! Thankfully, they were in good shape once they woke up. I took them get ramen at this place we love for lunch. Seriously the best ramen I’ve ever had. I think I was pretty spot on with my carb guess this time. It’s so freaking hard when you are trying to figure it out just by looking at a plate. After lunch I took Mylin to get ice cream. Thank you Jeni’s for publishing nutrition info! After ice cream we walked around a nice park in the German Village to get some physical movement for My. The weather was great and My was feeling good. Stones in the ground with quotes in German line the path around a pond in the park and Mylin read all of them to me in their excellent German. We checked a flower garden and found some turtles in a pond. After that I had to get back to work. Mylin spent the rest of the afternoon working on art. It always makes me happy seeing that. During the hospitalization they didn’t work on art much until the last week and a half. When dinner rolled around the Ronald McDonald House provided pizza from Papa Johns. Not exactly a healthy meal but it meant I could get easily get carb counts. When that happens it feels like a nice mental break for me. After dinner we got some doggie snuggles from the therapy dog. Our active day wore My out! About 8:30 I looked over and noticed they were fast asleep. Another day of recovery in the books.
