Today was chill. My requested to sleep in and I thought, why the heck not.
We hit up the artsy Short North District for brunch and matcha. Then My had really been wanting to go to COSCI, the science museum of Columbus. I had read online that they don’t rent out wheel chairs and Mylin hasn’t built back their pre-surgery stamina. So, before we headed over to the museum, I met up with a chic from Facebook Marketplace and bought a travel sized wheelchair. I figured this would come in extra handy since much of what My wants to do doesn’t have wheel chair rentals. Plus I only paid $20 more than how much it cost to rent them at the zoo.

Mylin and I spent the afternoon at the COSI museum. When it closed at 5pm, we hit up (currently Instagram viral Mylin said) Japanese market and restaurant My had found. We both walked around the market for awhile after dinner. Then hit up Barnes and Noble for my avid reader to catch a new read, and a couple discount stores in hunt of cheap luggage to get everything out of this room back home (still waiting for confirmation on what day we’ll be out of here). We ended up meeting a Facebook Marketplace guy at a storage unit (not nerve wracking at all… but My and I did have a plan incase lol) to get some, because holy cannoli why is luggage so expensive.

My had a really good day over all. Their abdomen felt a little tight and they had some back pain most of the day. They attribute that to being out and about with me more than they have in a long time. We also had issues controlling sugar highs each time My ate. We even brought the food scale Daniel bought with us in the diabetes bag. Guessing carbs from restaurants with no nutritional information is so dang tricky! My is becoming a pro at navigating their insulin pump though. They have been giving all their own boluses. They also have been awesome at the math of splitting up the total carbs into the total of what they actually ate. They were up all day, no nap. I definitely pooped them out.

Sounds like Mylin had a busy day. The wheelchair was a great find. And makes for a better day to be out longer.
She will get the hang of counting the carbs. It is challenging though.
But wow so exciting that she is already figuring out her bolus. You go Mylin so proud of you.
