Yesterday we received some good news, and then some not so good news…
Good News:
Endoscopy Report: While we had heard things looked better visually, we still needed to get biopsy reports back to confirm the dysplasia in her stomach had not progreesed to metaplasia or cancer. Yesterday, we got the call that confirms there has not been any progression in the cellular change! Praise God, this means that Rae doen’t need to undergo cancer treatment prior to the bone marrow transplant! (Note: Rae will still need chemotherapy prior to the transplant as that’s what kills off her existing immune system.)
Not So Good News:
Influenza A has struck our house quick and hard. Araeya has now tested positive and is feeling pretty miserable. Thankfully, she got tested a few hours after starting to show symptoms so the doctors were willing and able to prescribe Tamaflu. Hopefully, between the medication and your continued prayers it will pass quickly and she will be able to enjoy Christmas! Thankfully, her next tests for the transplant are not until 12/29, so she should be well recovered by that time.
As always, we thank you for your prayers and support for Rae, our family, and her donor!
