This morning we received the great news that the donor has passed their labs, and been given the all clear!
Additionally, we received a call from our insurance, they have officially authorized the chemotherapy and transplant!
We are officially a go for transplant! 🙂
Current Timeline:
- Central IV line placed Friday 1/9/26
- Chemotherapy begins Monday 1/12/26
- Chemotherapy ends Sunday 1/18/26
- Transplant Day 1/22/26
Changes to timeline:
Last Friday we were notified Araeya has been approved for a new chemotherapy regimen. This new regimen uses different forms of chemotherapy. This allows the length/doses of chemotherapy to be decreased from 10 days to 8 days. It also allows them to give much more dialed in treatments that reduces the potential for toxicity or other complications, while still effectively wiping out her existing immune system.
It’s getting real!
WOW! We are really only a few days away… as I think about that, nearly in tears, it’s starting to seem real and sink in…
