Some additional antigen testing was performed at the Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital in Stanford and the family has been advised that Alice can accept a liver from a donor of blood type, O, A or B! This greatly increases her odds of getting a liver soon! (But 22 people die every day waiting for an organ.)
Did you know? You can donate a lobe of liver and still end up with a whole liver? The lobe donated will also regenerate and create a whole liver for the the individual who did not previously have a healthy liver. Now THAT’S a gift that keeps on giving!
