Great checkup down at Mayo, staying at the Ronald McDonald House again! Her heart is still showing no signs of rejection. This is AMAZING news. We hear of transplant families we know going through rejection, hospitalization during viruses, or (my biggest fear), post transplant lymphoma. We have NONE of these hurdles!

Working on her Immunosuppression meds transition (that we started in September). If we go too fast, she gets horrible canker sores. Hopefully we’ll be through the transition by the end of February.

We had our first annual appointment with dermatology; transplant kids are at much higher risk for skin cancer, so this is an annual appointment she’ll always need. At this point just treating some (most likely) allergy-related eczema on her hands and wrists.

Endocrinology went well too! Her bones have improved, but the biggest indicator will be making it year over year without further non-trauma related bone breaks. I had forgotten she had two bone breaks in 2023 😳🙄 they’re also in charge of her adrenal action plan. She’s still going to be on steroids for awhile, even past when transplant expects to wean her in (hopefully) a couple of months, because Endo would be surprised if her adrenal glands start working again right away (to produce cortisol). She’s been on steroids for so long, it’s highly likely they’ll be lazy and not jump into action right away.

Starting at RMH was great timing, as they had a free event at the local kids museum called SPARK. Nick and I had been there with Devin and Fiona last year, but Bianca had never been there. She loved it! Lots of fun play areas and she was able to make a paint-pouring ornament craft.
