The ultrasound results from Friday returned showing her veins in perfect working order; so the transplant team decided to proceed with a liver biopsy to check for rejection. We landed in Seattle around noon yesterday for her pre-surgery COVID test. From there, we had the rest of the day to spend in Seattle having a bit of fun before checking in this morning for the biopsy. We took advantage of some complimentary zoo tickets provided by Seattle Children’s and ate crab dumplings from her favorite restaurant here located near the hospital. It was a nice way to decompress before having to stay at the hospital yet again and deal with the discomfort of all things medical. Labs were performed this morning prior to surgery and indicated that her liver numbers have elevated yet again. However, we are still waiting on the results of the biopsy to know for certain whether she is experiencing a rejection episode; we should know by noon tomorrow. For now she is settled into her room, still sleepy from anesthesia but doing well.
