Update

Here’s the latest update. Sarah’s surgeon has finished closing Sarah’s chest incision today which is what they had planned on doing. The doctors and nurses have been been amazing and she is resting comfortably. Sarah is still on the ventilator which she hopefully will be taken off tomorrow. Sarah has two chest tubes which are draining well. Her glucose levels have been steadily dropping and have gone from 315 to the 100’s. I was able to get some rest today and Angie is resting now. It feels like we have been here for days haha but it’s only been hours. I do want to share a beautiful moment that God gave us last night when we arrived. The 6th floor holds very strong and painful memories for us because we lost our son Braxton in March of 2014. When we arrived on the floor last night and Sarah’s blood pressure was going up and down and alarms were sounding because her body was still adjusting Angie and I were both feeling anxious. I had to step out because I was struggling. Angie began to tell them about Braxton and why she we were having a hard time. The nurse was very kind and asked his name. When she told her his name she revealed that she was his nurse on the day he passed. God Moment!!!! I came back once I found out that she was his nurse. When I walked into the room and I saw her face I was able to feel at ease because I remembered how invested she was in taking care of Braxton and how emotional she was when he passed. We weren’t able to see her after he passed and it was such a beautiful moment for us to express how much her care meant to us and how confident we were in her in taking care of Sarah. In that moment God brought closure and took away the pain of this floor. To God be the Glory great things he has done.
