Ways to Give

Give Hope

The Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA) helps children and young adults who need a life-saving transplant by providing fundraising assistance and family support.

COTA is the premier organization providing fundraising assistance to transplant families … for a lifetime. Because we are a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, funds raised are not considered income for families. Since 1986, COTA has assisted children and young adults needing a life-saving organ, bone marrow or stem cell transplant. We also work with individuals of any age with a single gene disorder, such as Polycystic Kidney Disease, Cystic Fibrosis or Sickle Cell Disease.

COTA Hope Fund

Ensure COTA can provide its services at no cost.

The COTA Hope Fund provides a safety net for families who are facing the financial and emotional challenges of raising a child who needs, or has had, a life-saving transplant.

Your Hope Fund contribution will enable COTA to:

Continue to serve every transplant family who comes to us to ensure no child is denied a second chance at life due to financial issues.

Continue to provide services to families at no cost.

As the Trusted Leader Supporting Transplant Families, we strive to meet each new family wherever they are in their transplant journey. Your contribution to the COTA Hope Fund is critical to our ability to be a lifeline for the ever-increasing number of transplant families joining us each year.

Please join us in our mission to provide fundraising assistance and family support for children and young adults on a life-saving transplant journey.

Edrington Family Support Fund

Help COTA assist families with transplant-related expenses.

We created the Edrington Family Support Fund to honor Roberta Edrington, a generous Miracle Maker whose faithful giving to COTA gave hope to transplant families across the country. Through her estate, she left a legacy that will continue to have an impact for many years.

Roberta first learned about our mission while listening to a radio newscast. She was moved and motivated to help when the news director mentioned a COTA fundraising event to assist a young woman waiting for a transplant. Roberta made a life-changing decision to make a contribution to help transplant families in need. She continued to support COTA’s efforts for 20 years. When Roberta passed away at the age of 103, she made an estate gift so her support would continue.

The Edrington Family Support Fund bridges the gap many of our families experience when faced with transplant-related expenses. Contributions to these funds allow us to assist with expenses that exceed assistance available from COTA community campaign fundraising. Your gift can be designated to assist patients based on specific state, diagnosis or transplant type.

Leonard Kleinman Legacy Society

Leave a Legacy

COTA’s Leonard Kleinman Legacy Society was created in 2023 to recognize forward-thinking individuals — our Miracle Makers — who have remembered COTA in their estate or gift planning process. By making a bequest to COTA, you leave a legacy ensuring that our mission is carried on well into the future.

Most of us want to leave a lasting reminder of the gratitude we feel for the impact of an organization. We want to contribute to important work and play a part in a cause that helps families, perhaps for generations.
