Today’s update is one of both gratitude and quiet strength. We’re so happy to share that Aidan is making amazing strides in his recovery.
He has successfully received his transplant, undergone several follow-up procedures, and is now walking laps around his unit. His resilience is astounding — and now, another encouraging milestone:
🍼 Aidan has started tolerating small feeds through his G-tube, a critical step in rebuilding strength and preparing his body for the long-term healing journey ahead.
At his side every step of the way is his mom, Nichole, who continues to show immense love and courage. She’s taking moments to rest and recharge while staying completely focused on Aidan’s comfort and care.
🏡 What’s Next: Transitioning Out of ICU
As Aidan’s condition stabilizes, the care team is preparing for the next phase of recovery. Once he is cleared to leave the ICU, Aidan and Nichole will remain in NYC for about 8 more weeks to stay close to the hospital and continue outpatient care.
Their first choice is Ronald McDonald House New York, which provides a supportive, family-centered space during this time. However, due to high demand, there’s currently a longer-than-expected wait for a room.
This means there may be a gap in housing — during which they may need to stay in a nearby hotel at personal cost.
💡 Here’s What’s Happening Behind the Scenes:
✅ The discharge planning team is preparing for the move from ICU
📞 They remain in contact with RMH-NY and update room availability daily
🛏️ In the meantime, they’re exploring discounted hotel options
🧾 Social work support is helping with logistics, financial aid, and medical equipment for outpatient care
