We started the day to our room and door being decorated for Bexley’s birthday. The nurses at Duke have become such precious friends, and so many of them wanted to celebrate Bexley!💛
Bexley refused to take the medicine to help calm her for the line removals, so she did it without. It was hard and traumatic, but we got through it. We were able to finally leave a little after lunch. We made it home to decorate, celebrate, have her favorite dinner, and a cake! 🌻
The next few weeks, we will have to take it easy and let her body continue to heal. We will get labs later this week and a repeat CT scan at Duke in 2 weeks. Please pray for healing. It feels so frustrating all this happened, and it is a complication that happens in less than 1% of patients. Why Bexley? I don’t know, but I know none of this has caught God by surprise. We trust Him, and we know He is good and faithful.
Thank you all for your continued love and support for our sunshine girl!
