We got outside for some fresh air and to play in the grass a bit! She may have an IV and medical bracelet on, but this child loves to play!🌻

Today, we found out that Bexley will need a procedure on Wednesday. She will have a liver biopsy, and they will also be placing an external bile drain. She will likely have to wear this drain for a few months or for as long as it takes to fully open her bile duct. The team assured me this is a common complication post transplant, and this is likely why her liver numbers have stayed elevated. It was hard to hold back the tears today, but I quickly got myself together because I did not want Bex to see me like that.

Bexley is her usual positive little self. I tried to explain to her what was going to happen, and she was like “well that will be kind of cool!” Then we practiced how to flush the drain on a stuffed animal. She is already a pro!

Today, I was upset because I was not expecting all of this. I was not expecting to have another long hospital stay, another procedure, another thing for Bexley, but at the same time, I was like, “Lord, isn’t this what I have also been praying for? For an explanation for the high labs and a fix?” So while this is hard and upsetting that she needs another sedation with another procedure, I’m also choosing to praise God for this explanation and treatment.

If you all would join us in praying for Bexley and that her procedure goes smoothly. Please pray for no rejection, infection, or complications. Pray for Selah. Pray for Jay and me as we continue to navigate this life after transplant. We appreciate you all so much.💛
