Today is day 23 in the ICU for Katie as she fights the PTLD Burkitt Lymphoma/Leukemia. She has encephalopathy, which is causing her brain to not function correctly. She stayed awake last week from Tuesday until Sunday with only little 20 minute naps a couple times a day at best.
She has a fungal infection and bacterial infection in her blood. Doctors think this has come from her central line or ART line, which can happen sometimes, but because of her situation it is very dangerous. They can’t pull the lines like they normally would because the chemo and dialysis would have to stop.
Her liver is still performing OK, even though it is producing enough bilirubin to turn her yellow.
Please keep praying for Katie. We are praying that God heals her and gives her the chance to fulfill the good things she was studying to bring the world.
