Did you know the normal kidney is the size of a fist?

Often when referring to my kidneys I call them “my footballs” because doctors have told me they are each about the size of a football.  It’s a miracle they fit in my body!  Well, they kind of do NOT.  That is a large part of the problem.

I have had countless surgeries to remove cysts from my kidneys, attempting to make room or alleviate some pain.  Nothing has worked.  That is why I have always planned to have them removed during my transplant.

November 25, 2020 was day one of my transplant evaluations. I posted a video talking about all of the people on my medical team I have met with so far, and some of the inforamtion I learned day one!
