Thank you all for the birthday wishes and messages, turns out 31 will be the most memorable birthday ever.

10 days ago, on St. Patrick’s day, I finally received my lucky match after two years of waiting on the transplant list.

I’m so grateful to the donor for their sacrifice and their family for making the incredibly hard decision.

The transplant team removed my two large kidneys, that weighed 10 pounds, and transplanted two new healthy small kidneys that will continue to grow.

I now have more kidney function than I have ever had, in my life. AND NO MORE DIALYSIS!!

Thanks for everyone who has reached out, stopped by, sent flowers, etc. I have been slow to respond as my recovery has been a lot harder than expected with the combination of the transplant and double nephrectomy and having essentially 4 surgeries in the last 3 months. I will get back to my normal busy life and start really enjoying these new beans soon enough, it might just take me a minute.
