Time for summer!
Eli and Jakey have had a busy few weeks: a trip to CHOP, the last week of school, and a much deserved vacation!!!
CHOP
Dave and Grandma Patty took the boys up to Philly for their monthly visit to CHOP a few weeks ago. Their t-cell numbers continue to improve and they are able to go off their anti-fungal medication. (Yay – one less med!!)
Jacob’s alopecia seems to be returning some but we are not too worried yet. Lack of appetite continues to challenging due to chemo effects, so mom and dad are frequently helping the boys stay well hydrated and well nourished.
Overall it was a good trip and the boys were back in time for the last day of school.
School
They boys finished this crazy virtual/hopsitalized/home bound school year! Woohoo! Ali and Dave continue to provide the boys with fun enrichment activities like painting, playing with cicadas and lots of water fun!
Vacation
As soon as school ended the family hopped in the car and headed to Ali’s parents … who have a swimming pool! In addition, Ali’s brother and his family quarantined prior to the visit so they could play together! The boys are still very susceptible to infections so they have not been able to play with friends, so it was a super treat to play with thier cousins!
The family returned home a week later to find an awesome free-standing pool in their yard from friend Jill! Since the boys can’t be in public pools, this is a perfect solution for the summer.
This week finds both boys under the weather with low grade fevers. Keep up prayers that they get better right away!
and to close this blog post…. we’d be remiss if we did thank all the Dads who support Eli and Jacob…. ESPECIALLY THIS GUY:
