Being an organ donor is a true gift of life you give to others. We don’t know much about Evan’s donor only that the donor hero was between the age of 18-24 and that the match with Evan was good.

While Evan was in the PICU recovering, a family 2 rooms down was saying goodbye to their 15 year old son. I had heard about when donors do an honor walk, but to be apart of it I feel was Gods way of helping us through this time.

What is an Honor Walk? Hospital staff are invited to come and silently line the pathway from the Intensive Care Unit to the Operation Room (OR) as the organ donor is wheeled to the OR for organ recovery. The team pays their respects to the donor and lends support to the family on their journey.
