Biopsy Results

Biopsy results are back and we are very happy to report no sign of rejection. One of the main reasons for the biopsy was to see if Evan could handle a lower anti-rejection dose and now we know he can.

We did learn alot that is helping explain why some of his other levels are higher. Evan donor kidney was waiting for him for around 13 hours and during that time it’s possible some damage occurred. It also showed some signs of calcification in the kidney. The donor possibly had kidney stones or was trying to prevent stones with vitamin D so both of those were present in the biopsy. Evan is already taking a medication for blood pressure that has thiozide in it and that helps with the calcification. This don’t not mean he will get stones, but it’s good to know what’s going on.

Evan did very well with the procedure and is back to school and baseball.

Thank you everyone for all you prayers and thoughts.
