The test results came back… ultrasound was clear and the MRI was clear however, the liver biopsy showed mild acute liver rejection and ascending cholangitis. A stool study also came back showing C-diff, a respiratory swab shows rhinovirus (common cold) and he is also positive for cytomegalovirus. So, despite this guy’s silly smile, he actually is pretty sick and is still spiking fevers. 

The plan is to keep him in the hospital at least over the weekend for IV antibiotics and antivirals. They will also increase his anti-rejection medications and give him an antibiotic through his g-tube too. Luckily, it seems we caught everything relatively early so hopefully he will be on the mend soon.
