With some more medication decreases on Friday, it seemed Gavin was starting to finally feel better. Sunday he was in a great mood (mostly) but that was short lived. This morning he woke up very fussy and very hot. His temperature was 39.4 (102.9). We had scheduled labs drawn and the results showed his WBC count was 44. We were instructed to go to the emergency room for workup and have now been admitted to the hospital for IV antibiotics and to await the results of multiple tests. So far the chest X-ray is clear. We pray he just has the cold we all have and nothing else is going on. My poor boy just can’t catch a break.
