Today was a big day for Gillian. She made a lot of advances in her healing. She had her wound vac, epidural and foley removed today. We can now walk with just one IV pole, which means we can walk by ourselves and without 2 nurses helping us manage all the lines. We also had a little spa day and washed her hair. With weaning of meds she is having an increase in her pain & more difficulty sleeping. And with all of that she still managed to get up and walk 3 times today. She did a total of 10 laps around the unit which is amazing. She pushes and pushes to do better everyday and I am so proud of her. It breaks my heart into a million billion pieces watching her suffer and miss out on so much of her teenage years but I can truly say it has strengthened her & she faces adversity head on. She also has a heart of gold, tonight she invited a 12 yr old little friend to walk with us. The girl lit up and chatted with us for 2 more laps. Rough days are just a part of this package but we are so grateful for the progress she is making and for the wonderful care we are receiving here. We are also incredibly thankful for all of you, for the thoughts, prayers, calls, FaceTimes and texts checking on us. We are very blessed.💜💜
