Isla was discharged from the hospital on June 15, twenty-eight days post transplant. The nurses and doctors at Georgetown did was they call a “clap-out” where they gave Isla cape with signatures and notes and lined up cheering & blowing bubbles as we left the transplant unit. Then it was off to the Ronald McDonald House to learn to live as a family again (and take care of Isla’s medications all on their own). The first night at the RMH, CallaMae said they were having dinner like a real family because they were all around the same table.

Isla has been doing so well in recovery. Her scar is also fading. She is slowly gaining weight and may get released to go home very soon! Thank you everyone for all your prayers thus far and support. Our family is forever grateful for the love and generosity shown.
