Jack’s care team met on Friday and noted that although there is a clot, Jack’s body has grown collateral veins around the clot to handle the blood flow that can’t get through due to the clot. Because of this, his liver is still getting all the blood it needs. They decided that, as of now, we are not going to do any additional surgeries with his vasculature. The risks outweigh the benefits because he’s doing just fine. The blood in his stool and throw up has stopped. Now, we are hoping to schedule the closure of his belly in the next weeks.

Bright Spot- Jack got cleared to go outside this week!! First time since Dec 6th! He loves the wind!
