Home Sweet Home!

“There’s no place like home!”  This was famously declared by Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz and Jen can now attest to this sentiment whole-heartedly.  How?  Because she is HOME!  This is the best news to share.  Jen’s medical team at Duke gave her the green light to relocate to Indy based on her exceptional medical and rehab progress. The city of Durham and Duke University Medical Center will always be near and dear to Jen, but she is SO happy to be back in the Circle City.

Jen is forever grateful to the Duke medical transplant community for the support and care making her return home possible.  She will continue under their monitoring with a return visit to Duke scheduled in July for follow-up.  Jen is also forever grateful to her donor hero who made this transplant journey possible.  It took a village to pull off a successful third double-lung transplant, led by Jen’s amazingly supportive family.  Shout out to mom Debbie, step-father Jim, dad Mike, step-mother Susan, brother Joe, and sister-in-law Cynthia.

Now that Jen is back in Indy, she is partnering with the great team at IU Health for outpatient rehab—this is key to Jen making a full recovery. She looks forward to visits with friends and family as her strength and stamina improve.  The encouraging cards, messages, and financial assistance from the COTA for Jen Warrior campaign have been incredibly valuable in this journey and Jen is so appreciative! Onward!
