Today was relatively uneventful. The Dexcom was drunk again this morning, but this time it’s explainable. Mylin was laying on their side with their weight on their arm which can cause what’s known as a compression low. CGM’s read the interstitial fluid, not your actual blood, and the compression thins that fluid out and messes with the readings. I double checked with a finger prick and all was well. Thankfully this happened once I was already awake. We walked down to the excellent Mercury Diner for breakfast. Mylin got an omelette and potatoes. I was thankful the omelette was low carb as I had to estimate without nutrition info or my trusty food scale. While we were eating I got a message from the GI doc that they had labs they wanted us to do before tomorrow’s appointment. After breakfast we walked over the Nationwide lab. Sounds small, but this was the longest walk Mylin has done so far at half a mile. When labs were done I walked back to get the car and then swung around to pick Mylin up. They did great! The rest of the day was chill. I spent it working and doing laundry. Mylin spent it playing video games and taking a nap. Blood sugars have been really stable today and the new carb ratio is working great. Slow day all around and I was just fine with that.

One other nice note from yesterday. There are 2 other families currently at Ronald McDonald House for TPIAT follow ups and Tif knew both of them through an online group. I got to spend some time talking to them yesterday afternoon. I’m not usually super chatty but it was really nice to talk to people who are slightly further ahead in the same journey we are.
