Riley is getting stronger every day!  She is able to sit in a chair twice a day for an hour which is huge.  GJ tube feeding at a vary small rate was also started. For some reason, her glucose spikes in the evening, so they are trying to figure out why that is.  The doctor said this isn’t common so they need to figure out why. It’s a delicate balance of trying to regulate her with insulin and keeping those precious islet cells happy.  Unfortunately, we won’t know if the glucose fluctuations are affecting the islet cells for up to a year.  Our prayer for Riley is that at the end of all of this that she will only need a little bit of insulin help.
