This picture says it all… shut up, mom, and let me eat this donut!!
He’d been begging for a donut since last night and he finally got the green light.
Not much sleep last night around here, but that was to be expected. He got a renal/bladder ultrasound this AM which looks great. Labs came in from this morning and his kidney function has improved dramatically! We havent seen that low of a creatinine level since he was 4 years old! 🥹
Here was the scene: I’m still in my pajamas, didn’t even brush my hair yet, and the nephrologist is hugging me in the middle of 10 people during hospital rounds because I’m bawling happy tears of joy! 😭😭😭
We get to move out of the intensive care unit today to a regular room! Onward and upward! The team thinks he looks amazing for just having a kidney transplant.
Steve is doing much better. He had some struggles yesterday with pain management, but today he’s turned a corner and he’s eating and walking. 👍🏻
Hoping he gets discharged soon so we can see him. 🤞🏻
We miss him and Jacob keeps asking for him.
An enormous, larger than life thank you to all of you. We feel all the love and could not be more grateful right now. 🙏🏻 ♻️💖
Special thanks to Aunt Janel, Jacob’s unofficial nurse and my invaluable partner since Steve can’t be here. Jacob told her this morning that “she does a better job than you, Mom.”
Rude!
