Hi! 👋
We haven’t updated since Jacob was discharged from the hospital because, well, we were exhausted and settling in at the Airbnb. 😴
We had labs drawn yesterday and saw all of Jacob’s transplant team in the clinic. The surgeon removed his last drainage tube, so…”I’m free at last, Mom!”
His creatinine has bumped up a little and the nephrologist said it could be due to his anti-rejection med dose, so we skipped it last night. At about midnight, Jacob woke and was hearing and seeing things off and on for about 2 hours. I read that his anti-rejection meds could cause this rare side effect if levels are too high. 😵💫
Anyway, I spoke with the nephrologist this morning and she said that could be the cause, but she wasn’t convinced and advised we get labs and an ultrasound of his kidney today. So back to the lab again!
Jacob is still in good spirits and feeling good, so we are encouraged by that. ♻️💪🏻💚
We will keep everyone updated. Please keep us in your continued prayers and thoughts. (Steve is still exhausted, which is to be expected, but otherwise doing well.)
I am trying to remind myself that this path isn’t linear, never has been.
Please click on the COTA link in the comments and continue sharing his story. 🙏🏻
