Two Month Update!

t’s hard to believe it’s been 2 months since transplant! We are back in Florida and Jacob is back at school!! It is so good to be back and sleep in my own bed. I think I counted 10 different beds I slept in while we were up north, 3 of them being hospital prison cots. 😵‍💫

Jacob’s creatinine is stable! 👏🏻

We are still adjusting his anti- rejection medication to optimal levels. Unfortunately Jacob is experiencing the side effect of dizziness and vertigo several nights a week when we wake him at 1am to cath. Then he is unable to fall back asleep for several hours. We are really hoping this side effect goes away soon!

Other than that, he and Steve are doing great! Steve went back to work and I started back last week. I haven’t been off of work that long since I took a maternity leave after Jacob was born!

Moving forward, we are getting labs down weekly here and will have to fly up to Pittsburgh once a month for the next year to check in with the transplant team. So a lot of traveling in our future.

We are grateful beyond words for all of the love, prayers, texts, phone calls, cards, meals, offerings of lodging and random acts of kindness from so many people. This world has some pretty amazing people in it! I am in awe of how many people came together to surround us with love during the most difficult challenge we’ve faced as a family. 💚💗♻️
