Since Stetson’s discharge from the hospital, he has been experiencing significant pain, discomfort, and irritability due to the high dose steroid treatment and liver swelling affecting other organs. Notably, he has shown no interest in toys or play and his personality remains altered. Despite this, he has been receiving supportive care from his family, particularly his brother Colton, who has demonstrated patience and love towards Stetson.  Recent lab results indicate a gradual decline in concerning numbers, prompting adjustments to his medication regimen by the liver team, including reduced steroid dosage to possibly help manage blood pressure. A consultation with the kidney specialist resulted in further adjustments to his blood pressure medication. We are now transitioning to weekly lab visits, allowing Stetson increased time at home with family. We are optimistic that this will facilitate his recovery and continued improvement in his health indicators.
