Isabel’s Impact Update
April was very good to us! We were fortunate enough to be able to attend the COTA 40th Anniversary fundraiser where over $425,000 were raised for transplant-needy kids. Janelle was officially announced as a member of COTA’s President Advisory Council (PAC) where she will aid in determining policies and regulations, assist in raising funds, and monitor organizational performance. We couldn’t think of a better way to commemorate Donate Life Month and Isa’s birth month.
We are honored to to make a repeat donation to the following family:
- Sofia Volz (3 y/o) from North Carolina (https://cota.org/cotaforsofiasheartjourney/ )
We also wanted to announce five new families that we will be assisting which you can read about here. Isabel’s Impact has now supported 54 families and made a total of 59 donations. We are deeply grateful to each of you who make this work possible.
Noah Meth, 7 months old: Noah and his family are from Evansville, Indiana, and he is currently inpatient at Riley Hospital. Noah is currently waiting on a life-saving heart transplant and will need to remain inpatient until after transplant as a status 1A patient.

Jayce McClary, 3 years old: Jayce and his family are from Delaware, Ohio but have been living at Nationwide Children’s Hospital where Jayce has been in-patient since November of 2025. Jayce is waiting for a heart transplant and will remain in the hospital until he receives it.
Rory Brooks, 6 years old (old picture): Rory lives with his family in Boise, Idaho, and he received a life-saving heart transplant when he was just 6 months old. The Brooks family continues to have many transplant-related expenses nearly 6 years after his transplant.
Asher Potts, 7 years old: Asher will be 8 years-old in May, and he became a COTA patient in 2018 due to his heart transplant when he was just 3 months old. Asher is doing well post-transplant and lives with this family in Orem, Utah. They still have many transplant-related expenses from follow up appointments and post-transplant medications.
Trace Askins, 17 years old: Trace lives with his mom Alina in Galesburg, Illinois. He and his mom are making numerous trips back and forth to St. Louis Children’s Hospital as they await a heart transplant for Trace. His volunteer team was trained last month and is starting to gain some traction, but has severely limited resources to work with right now.
